How can I be more trendy and also have a diff spunky dressing style?

I'm a curvy girl, not fat, curvy. But I love the way MIA and those kinda singers and stuff dress. Curvaceous girls can only dress sexy, and I wanna dress spunky like that Give me some tips?!?!?!
