How can I learn to style my hair?

I've got long dark brown hair and I am terrible at styling it. I've tried curling it, fancy up do's, backcombing and the rest but it never looks good or professional or anything. I even sat for ages looking at hair tutorials on YouTube but when I tried them it looked rubbish. Every time I see girls going about with cool stylish hair it annoys me! Is there anywhere I can go for advice?

you just need to practice. i used to never know how to curl my hair, and i sucked at straightening it too. but with practice and time youll be good at it
having people do your hair for you, and if you watch it its the easiest way to learn because you know what works for your hair.
tip- short hair is easier to style
