Thread: Central St. Martins for BA (Honours) Fashion?

Central Saint Martins is an excellent choice for a fashion degree.

If you're looking at CSM, you may also want to look at the following two other, elite level fashion schools: Parsons School of Design, and the Fashion Institute of Technology. Both are in NYC.

For CSM, your portfolio is going to be of primary importance, but anything else you can do to support your application will help. Things like internships, awards and etc. certainly help. Connections only work if the people genuinely know you.

I'm currently studying Diploma in Visual Communication in Singapore and I really want to get into Central St Martins to pursue a degree in fashion. I've heard from people they only accept 40 students from overseas. Is that true? I'm trying really hard to perfect my portfolio. Is there any other things I can do other than making sure my portfolio scores?

I know the tuition fees, travel, lodging, and materials are gonna cost me a bomb. But, this is something I really want. I intend to work while studying. I'm also trying to aim for a design scholarship provided by the Singapore government to London.

Other than the importance of portfolio, does getting connections, winning more prestigious awards, companies you've interned with, will help in getting enrolled to the school?

Is there any advices, suggestions you could give too? Thank you!
