As you might have seen in our first version of “Who did it better?” we compared two Aaron Rodgers touchdown passes from Week 1 and asked you to pick which one was more impressive.
Now we’re taking two different plays — similar ones — from different games and asking the same. We think you’ll flip over these two.
Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is not afraid to go airborne (AP). First, we head down to Nashville, where the Tennessee Titans are trying to win with the power run game and some imagination on offense. It largely didn’t work Sunday in a loss to the Minnesota Vikings, but there were flashes here and there.
Here was one — a little play-action bootleg pass to DeMarco Murray, who takes an unusual path to the end zone:

Not too bad. Degree of difficult: medium. Artistic merit: Very high.
Here’s another flip to compare it to: Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is flushed out of the pocket and — like Murray — shows he will do what it takes to get that necessary yardage.

See, on this one, it’s not as pretty as Murray’s aerial. But we’re just not used to seeing too many quarterbacks go skyward — especially with the sideline so close. So you have to take that into consideration.

What do you say? Are you going with Murray’s glitz or Carr’s guts?
