While the United States slept, things were busy on the other side of the globe. Here is our recap of everything Olympics you may have missed overnight.
Jamie Anderson — the 23-year-old snowboarder from South Lake Tahoe, California — is the first Olympic gold medalist in women’s slopestyle. Anderson’s gold win is the second for Team USA: She joins Sage Kotsenburg, who dominated the men’s finals.

Things didn't go so well for U.S. favorite Bode Miller. The five-time Olympic medalist finished his men's downhill run at 2:06.75, mediocre by the day's standards, and placed eighth. Austria's Matthias Mayer won the gold at 2:06.23. Italy's Christof Innerhofer took silver, and Norway's Kjetil Jansrud finished with the bronze.

Czech snowboarder Sarka Pancochova fell so hard at the women’s slopestyle finals that the back of her helmet cracked in half. The 23-year-old, who still placed, walked off the course disoriented but with no visible injuries.
