Williams’ third-round win over*Johanna Larsson was her 307th Grand Slam match win,*passing Martina Navratilova for most by a woman*in the Open era and tying her with Roger Federer.**
“It is actually a really good feeling,” Williams said after the match. “To be up there with both men and women is something that’s super rare, and it actually feels good.”
With the way Williams has breezed through her opening three matches, it’s looking like this won’t be the first bit of history she makes in New York.
