Brazilian outlet O Dia reports that UFC welterweight Yan Cabral was robbed at gun point Friday near his gym two days after making his successful UFC debut. Cabral had just come from the bank where he’d gotten the money to pay his head coach and manager André Pederneiras when two men on a motorcycle held him up for his backpack which contained his training gear and money.
"I’ve lived in Rio for 15 years and it never happened. It was a big shock,” Cabral said. The fighter was not injured in the robbery.

The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert was on the cast of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil II until he suffered a broken hand. The undefeated 30 year-old had a two-year lay off between official fights before his UFC debut on Wednesday at UFC Fight Night 29 in Brazil where he won a unanimous decision over David Mitchell.
