TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin knew if he wanted to get his team into the College Football Playoff — and earn an invitation to the Heisman ceremony — he’d have to have a big game against No. 7 Kansas State.
Nothing bigger than ignoring personal safety for a touchdown.
Boykin took advantage of strong blocking from his line and scrambled toward the end zone. As two Kansas State defenders tried to block his path, Boykin didn’t slide, he ran right on through and the result was fantastic.
While there’s always that initial fear of injury, Boykin popped right back up and sprinted toward his bench celebrating with every teammate along the way.
The touchdown put TCU up 24-7 early in the third quarter and TCU ended up winning 41-20.
Nothing will fire up a team more than watching a quarterback put his body on the line for a great play.
