Fortunately for Alex Cobb, his wet feet didn’t turn into cold feet before proposing to girlfriend Kelly Reynolds this past weekend. In fact, the Tampa Bay Rays right-hander actually went through with one of the more creative and daring marriage proposal’s you’ll see, calling upon the help of a friendly dolphin at the Discovery Cove in Orlando, Fla. to pop the big question.
Yes, a real dolphin. An Atlantic bottlenose dolphin to be exact and certainly not one of those guys from Miami.

Was there ever a doubt Reynolds' would say yes? Of course not.
Judging by her reaction, she had absolutely no idea the dolphin was in cahoots with Cobb. They executed the proposal seamlessly and expertly, almost like a good pitcher and catcher combination that knows how to keep batters off balance.

Of course, Cobb didn't quite trust the dolphin with the engagement ring. Once out of the water, he got down on one knee in traditional style to complete the proposal and officially present her with the ring himself. He then revealed that he had secretly flown in Reynolds' mom from Alabama for the special occasion.
Hats off to Cobb. He certainly covered his bases to make sure everything and everyone was in place without spoiling the surprise.
As for a wedding date, the couple still hasn't decided. They probably realize they'll have their work cut out for them if they hope to top this proposal, so it may take some time for planning.
