LONDON — There are different levels of celebrity in the Olympic Athletes' Village. You have your VIPs who visit during the games. You have your celebrity athletes like Usain Bolt, who hire their teammates as security to keep the autograph hounds at bay.

And then you have Queen Elizabeth II, who really caused a stir when she arrived for a tour on Saturday.

The Queen was at the village with 150 members of the British Olympic Association. She joined London 2012 chairman Lord Sebastian Coe and the Duke of Edinburgh for the tour, which included the dining hall.

From Y! Eurosport:

Rose Anders, who plays guard for Great Britain women's basketball team was one of the athletes blown away by seeing the Queen on her visit.

She said: "She was absolutely brilliant. I was completely in awe. What a great thing for her to come through the Village, meet the athletes and see where we are living.

"This is the first Olympics for us as a British women's basketball team ever. To come from last night and the opening ceremony, which will never be topped, and now another experience, which will never be topped, is amazing."
Said British volleyball player Dami Bakare, in taking this photo: "Her Majesty the Queen in the Olympic village. Perfect 10 for her landing in yesterdays opening ceremony by the way!"

Said Australian swimmer Cameron McEvoy, in taking this photo: "Me and the Queen kicking it with some other randoms #whoinvitedthem"

Other reactions to the Queen's visit:

After the tour, Her Majesty went to the swimming facility, so we could have this photograph, which is one of our early favorites from the Games:
