Saturday generally isn't a news day for most NFL clubs, but leave it to the Patriots to give us something to talk about.

The Pats listed about a quarter of their roster as questionable on Friday's injury report, but the second cleat dropped on Saturday. New England activated Visanthe Shiancoe from the injured list, ostensibly to cover for the likely absence of Aaron Hernandez. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Hernandez isn't expected to play against Buffalo.

The Pats and Bills have an early game, so fantasy owners can audit the game-day scratches and get their lineups right before the 1 pm ET kickoffs. That's the good news here. But it's troubling to see Hernandez still on the shelf, given that he rested Week 8 (while the Patriots were routing the Rams in London), then enjoyed a bye in Week 9. It underscores one of the most important rules of fantasy football management: be careful not to expect miracles, and seamless returns, from players who have multi-week injuries.

Shefter is also reporting that Percy Harvin won't play this week, as everyone has suspected all along.

Let's be careful out there, gamers.
