When things aren’t going your way, they’re just not going your way. Check out the San Jose Sharks and Patrick Marleau against the Vancouver Canucks. This looked like an easy goal. Only it wasn’t for the Saskatchewan speedster.*

Yikes.
The Sharks have gone 2-4-0 in their last six games. Marleau is averaging 0.74 points per-game – which would be his lowers total for a full 82-game season since the 2007-08 campaign. The Sharks are six points behind the Winnipeg Jets, who hold the final Wild Card spot and four points back of the Calgary Flames for the final position in the Pacific Division.
And San Jose lost 3-2 in regulation to the Canucks.
As for Marleau, what did he think of his miss? According to Ross McKeon of the San Francisco Chronicle:
"I went to stop it, it hit my stick and went toward the other side of the net and got away"
A goal by Marleau would have made it 3-1 in favor of San Jose.*Hey, it happens. But that looked really bad.*
