An ambulance was called on to the field in the fourth quarter of Oregon State's game at Utah on Saturday when OSU sophomore running back Storm Woods appeared to suffer a head or neck injury blocking a pass rusher.
Replays showed Woods diving at the legs of a Utah defender who was putting pressure on quarterback Sean Mannion. Woods head appeared to be the only part of his body that made contact with the defender's thigh.
Woods was immobilized on the field at Rice-Eccles Stadium for several minutes while doctors and members of both athletic training staffs worked to help him. He eventually raised his hand to acknowledge applause the Utah crowd gave him just before he was loaded in the ambulance.
Woods was the Beavers' leading rusher at the time of his injury with 12 carries for 34 yards. He also had two receptions for 24 yards.
