No. 1 Star: John Tavares, New York Islanders
The Islanders captain had a hat-trick as part of his five point night and two assists in NYI's 7-3 crushing of the Dallas Stars. Of the three goals, the best one was his first. Thomas Vanek grabbed the puck on a bad turnover by Rich Peverly. Vanek passes the puck through his legs to Tavares at the side of the net.

(It's going to be funny when he's left off the Canadian Olympic team.)
No. 2 Star: Sergei Bobrovsky, Columbus Blue Jackets
The reigning Vezina winner returned to Bluejackets lineup after missing 14 games with a groin strain. Just to make sure his groin was back to 100%, he took Columbus to a shoot-out against the New York Rangers. Bobrovsky stopped 40 of 43 shots in regulation and overtime, plus stonewalling Mats Zuccarello and Rick Nash in the Jackets 4-3 (S/O) win.
No. 3 Star: Mike Cammalleri, Calgary Flames
The Avalanche took a costly 'too many men' penalty late in the third period putting the Flames on the power play. At 26th in the league, Calgary's PP probably doesn't strike fear into the Avs 19th ranked PK. Well it should have. Cammalleri scored a power play goal and the Flames went on to win 4-3.
Honorable Mention: Congrats to Islanders rookie Ryan Strome on scoring his first NHL goal ... Rick Nash scored two goals against his former team, his second goal tied the game in the third and pushed the team to overtime ... Mark Letestu and Ryan Johansen both scored against Henrik Lundqvist in the shootout ... It was a goaltending duel of sorts in Florida pitting Carey Price (Team Canada hopeful) against Tim Thomas (is it possible to be too American?); the Canadiens won 2-1 on Brian Gionta's game winner in the second period ... The best thing to come out of this game is David Desharnais' goal. It's a great one but there is debate: did he fake shooting on the move or whiff on a shot prior to the spin?

Did You Know? Kyle Okposo's was not in the Islanders lineup on Monday because his wife gave birth to a baby girl, Elliana. She has already been snubbed by Team USA women's hockey.
Dishonorable Mention: Dallas kept up with New York until the third period where the Isle scored three unanswered goals; they outshot the Stars 43 to 23 ... Islanders starter Evgeni Nabokov left in at 7:08 in the first period due to injury. According to Dan Rosen of NHL.com, Nabokov has already been placed on the IR by the Islanders with a lower-body injury and Anders Nilsson has been recalled ... Avalanche rookie Nate McKinnon took a puck off the ankle at the third period and was in visible discomfort; x-rays have been performed and there is no update as of right now ... Columbus defenseman Fedor Tyutin left the game in the second period after being hit awkwardly into the boards by Rangers forward Chris Kreider. Kreider was assessed a five-minute major, a 10-minute misconduct penalty and was kicked out of the game. No word on possible supplementary discipline for Kreider:
