No. 1 Star: Alex Ovechkin, Washington Capitals
Scored one goal and added one assist in 4-3 win over the Florida Panthers. Ovechkin has six points in his last three games. The victory over the Panthers was Washington’s first game since its Winter Classic victory.


No. 2 Star: Patrick Sharp, Chicago Blackhawks
Picked up the OT winner in a 5-4 comeback win over Dallas and added an assist for the Blackhawks, who also played their first game since the Jan. 1 Classic. Chicago moved to 10-4-0 against the Central Division and 16-6-1 against the Western Conference.


No. 3. Star: Ben Scrivens, Edmonton Oilers
Goaltender stopped 31 of 33 Islanders shots on goal to help the Oilers break a two-game losing skid. Overall, Edmonton has lost 11 of its last 13 games. Scrivens actually has not lost a game in regulation in his last four decisions.*
Honorable Mention: Florida’s Nick Bjugstad scored a goal and added an assist in a loss to Washington … Boston’s Tuukka Rask stopped 35 of 36 Carolina shots on goal in a loss to the Hurricanes … Carolina forward Eric Staal scored the shootout winner. Teammate Anton Khubodin allowed one goal on 20 shots on goal and stopped all of Boston’s shootout shooters … Tampa’s Tyler Johnson scored two goals in a victory over Ottawa. He finished the game a minus-2.


Did You Know?: With an assist Florida’s Aaron Ekblad set a franchise record for points by a rookie defenseman with 22. The previous mark (21) was held by Ed Jovanovksi.
