The Jets sniper notched his second hat trick of his NHL career and added an assist in an 8-2 win over the Dallas Stars. The 18-year-old rookie now leads the NHL with 11 goals in his first 14 games played. Laine is the first player with two career hat tricks prior to turning 19 since Trevor Linden in 1988.

No. 2 Star: Mark Scheifele, Winnipeg Jets
Laine’s teammate also put up a four-point night. He had two goals and notched two assists in his team’s win over Dallas. Scheifele has nine points in his last three games. The Jets have won two of those contests. Scheifele also has points in five straight games against the Stars.
No. 3 Star: Jeff Carter, Los Angeles Kings
The center fired two goals in his team’s 7-0 drubbing over the Toronto Maple Leafs. After a sluggish start, Carter has four points (three goals and one assist) in his last three games. The Kings have won three games in a row and outscored their opponents 12-0 in their last two games played. The Kings’ win was their largest shutout victory since 2007.
