No. 2 Star: Dale Weise, Montreal Canadiens
Weise earned the first hat trick of his career in the Canadiens 6-2 dispatching of the Calgary Flames. Tomas Fleischmann and David Desharnais assisted on two of Weise’s three goals.

No. 3 Star: Mats Zuccarello, New York Rangers
The Norwegian Hobbit picked his first career NHL hat trick in the New York Rangers 3-1 defeat of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Honorable Mention: Carl Soderberg scored with 32 seconds left in the game to bring the Colorado Avalanche within one of the Carolina Hurricanes. It would not be enough, though as the ‘Canes emerge victorious. Ryan Murphy and Kris Versteeg had two helpers each in the win. Colorado blocked 22 shots to the Hurricanes 6 ...*Buffalo Sabres goalie Linus Ullmark earned his first career NHL win against the Philadelphia Flyers. Ryan O’Reilly factored in all on all Sabres scoring with one goal on the power play and two assists. ... Andrew Hammond earned his first win of the season as the Ottawa Senators defeated the Detroit Red Wings 3-1. Erik Karlsson led the team in ice-time at 25:28. He was a plus-3 and picked up his 10th assist in as many games ...*Ryan McDonagh registered a team high 7 shots on goal. Peter Holland and Tyler Bozak returned to the lineup for Toronto. Bozak and Byron Froese were both 12 of 16 on the faceoff dot ...*Braden Holtby improved to 6-2-0 in the Washington Capitals 2-1 victory against the Columbus Blue Jackets. T.J. Brad Marchand scored 2 goals before getting tossed for boarding ...*Jonathan Toews scored a short handed and even strength goal for the Blackhawks in the loss. Chicago’s power play was 1 for 1 and Minnesota’s was 1 for 2. Devan Dubnyk picked up the win to move his record to 7-2-0 on the season. ...The Habs improved to 10-2-0 on the season. Calgary kept pace with Montreal tying the game twice before the Canadiens scored four straight goals to put the game away. Michael Condon is proving to be a steady backup for Carey Price picking up the win with 30 saves ...*The Vancouver Canucks had a 3-0 lead after the first period and the Arizona Coyotes climbed their way back into it. Tobias Rieder brought the ‘Yotes within a goal but could not push the team past the finish line.

Rookie Jake McCann scored his fifth goal in nine games with the Canucks. The goal helped cement the 19-year-old’s place on the big club. Richard Bachman earned his first win of the season in the 28 save effort against Arizona.*
