The Marquette basketball team will wear pink shorts and jerseys with school colors, Navy Blue and gold, as accents Saturday when it hosts No. 4 Villanova during the annual Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers Awareness weekend.
We've seen teams wear pink accents in the past and uniforms with pink trim, but these set a new standard for dedication to the cause. The uniforms are designed by Jumpman.
College football teams wear pink during select games in October each year in support of breast cancer awareness. The Marquette uniforms this week are about as bold as New Mexico State's jerseys last fall for a game against Rice.
