SAN FRANCISCO — How would Madison Bumgarner top his chugging-four-beers victory celebration when the San Francisco Giants won the NL wild-card game? Easy. He'd chug five.
The Giants finished off the Washington Nationals in the NLDS on Tuesday night at AT&T Park, winning Game 4 of the series 3-2 and advancing to the NLCS where they'll face the St. Louis Cardinals. Many of the players, Bumgarner included, did a lap around the field, slapping hands with fans after the final out.
So it made perfect sense that when he got into the clubhouse, Bumgarner needed some cold refreshment to help him continue the celebration. He grabbed five beers. He raised 'em to the sky like Stone Cold Steve Austin used to and chugged/bathed in the beer.*

As the Giants clubhouse celebration went on, Bumgarner brought a 12-pack back to his locker. Every few minutes, he'd pop the top off one and pour half the beer in mouth, half down his shirt.
At one point, he was winding up, with a metal beer bottle in this throwing hand instead of a baseball. First baseman Brandon Belt would choose a target and Bumgarner would fling beer out of his bottle in that direction. Next, Bumgarner tossed the beer bottle — a strike, of course — at Belt, who caught it and poured the rest on the head of a laughing woman.*They could do a beer-tossing act at the team's next talent show, those two.*
If you're looking for a good reason to root for the Giants in the NLCS, consider that a Giants win will mean we probably get to see MadBum chug a whole six-pack by himself.
