Kansas City starting pitcher Yordano Ventura had a rough outing Tuesday night at Baltimore with his night ultimately ending when he was ejected for hitting Manny Machado with a pitch in the fifth inning and fighting with Machado afterward.

It was obvious from the start that Ventura didn’t have great command. The Orioles scored four runs against Ventura in the first inning and it would have been worse if not for Lorenzo Cain racing across center field to rob Pedro Alvarez of a home run that would have put two more runs on the board.

Cain's catch should have been one of the highlights of the night and particularly from this game, but the fight overshadowed it and seemed to fire up the Orioles, who went on to win 9-1, hitting three home runs in the process.
Cain's catch was impressive because he was pretty much running full speed as he approached the wall where he perfectly times his jump to snag the ball as it went over the fence and bring it back. He made the whole thing look much easier than it is. Not many guys are capable of making that play, even in the big leagues.

Cain's defense didn't translate to a big night at the plate. He went 1-for-4 and wasn't able to spark the Royals offensively.
