The good news for the Carolina Hurricanes is that Jiri Tlusty said he’s feeling fine after their Tuesday night victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets, despite taking a hit to the head in the third period.*
The bad news for the Columbus Blue Jackets is that defenseman Jack Johnson could be getting a call from the NHL regarding this hit to the noggin, which earned him a two-minute minor for an illegal check to the head.
Does he deserve more than that? It appears Johnson tries to hit through the body, but the principal point of contact is the head. The fact that Tlusty was basically defenseless should play into this too.

But with no injury on the play and with Johnson having a rather clean record, there’s not guarantee that Johnson gets anything more from the Department of Player Safety.
