Jerilyn and Dennis Laing announced on Friday their daughter, Denna, suffered a 'significant spinal injury' in the Women's Outdoor Classic in Boston. No one would bat an eye if Denna Laing never wanted to even think of the day that changed her life forever.*
Yet, in a message that speaks true to the spirit of the player, the Denna Laing Team posted the following on Facebook from Denna herself:
Incredible positivity in the face of uncertainty.*
We don't know just how severely Denna has been impacted by the spine injury for the long-term.*We can only hope to be as strong when life's seemingly insurmountable problems rise to the surface.
Support continues to roll in under the banner of #14Strong. Playing without their teammate, Laing's team, the Boston Pride, gave tribute following their 8-1 win against over the New York Riveters.*
We are #14Strong. This win is for you, @dlaing14! pic.twitter.com/elWj1zTjS4
