(AP Photo/Chris Szagola, File) Nothing is more evident of Bryan Bickell’s ability to effectively deal with obstacles that exist in the here and now than his remarkable story of perseverance itself. His ability to reel in his emotions in his Carolina Hurricanes return five months after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis certainly helped to verify that.
But two nights later in the locker room after his first game back in Carolina, his emotions took hold, proving that it can be far more difficult to confront what’s ahead.
Bickell broke down into tears Thursday night when asked a question that induced thoughts about his future.
