The work day at the NFL's Park Avenue offices came and went with no big Friday afternoon news dump.
And we all know what news we're waiting for.
Unless the NFL surprises everyone and announces a decision on New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady really late on Friday or over the weekend, we're going to go yet another week without a resolution to Brady's four-game suspension for deflate-gate. His appeal hearing was June 23.

While we wait, we received a definitive opinion from Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski on what Goodell should do. Spoiler alert: He isn't in favor of any suspension.
“I think he should just get the four games wiped out baby! Roger, just wipe out those four games and make it easy,” Gronkowski said on "CBS This Morning" (h/t to the Boston Globe) as he promoted his book, "It's Good To Be Gronk." “Put this in the past. It’s pretty annoying that you keep holding it up.”
Gronk is correct*— it is annoying that no decision has been made, considering the saga really kicked off about six months ago, right after the AFC championship game. There has been a 243-page report, 10 hours of testimony at the appeal and countless conversations about deflate-gate ... and now another three-and-a-half weeks of waiting for a final verdict. If you ever get selected for jury duty, hope that Goodell isn't your foreman or you might be there a while.

It's hard to believe that Brady's suspension gets overturned completely, no matter what Mr. Gronk wants. That would likely lead to many questions from NFL owners about why they spent millions on the Wells Report, and it would also be a jolt if Goodell went completely against the initial punishment of his office. It's also hard to believe that the suspension stays at four games, or the NFL will get blasted for giving Brady the same suspension as Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy in his domestic abuse case. Really, the NFL put itself in a no-win situation by giving Brady a ridiculously excessive punishment to begin with. No matter what Goodell decides on the appeal, he'll get criticized for it.
But one thing you won't be able to do is criticize Goodell for rushing into a decision.
