(AP photo) Gonzaga freshman forward Killian Tillie injured his right ankle during the Zags’ 83-64 win over the Portland Pilots on Monday night. With the win, Gonzaga remains undefeated as the third-ranked team in the nation.
Tillie went down awkwardly in the second half and remained on the floor for several minutes while a medical trainer and Gonzaga head coach Mark Few talked to him and examined his leg. When he did exit the court with the help of freshman teammate Zach*Collins, he barely put any weight on the ankle.
He sat for the rest of the game on the sidelines with ice on the injury.
After the game, Few said that he thought it looked like a sprain.
“It looks to me like a pretty good ankle sprain right now,” Few said. “We’ll have to get it fully evaluated once we get back home.”
Tillie, originally from France, finished the game with four points in 12 minutes of playing time as the Bulldogs cruised to their 20th win of the season.

At 6-foot-10, Tillie is averaging 4.8 points and 13.8 minutes of playing time per game this season. Generally, he comes into the game in the second rotation alongside Collins as the backup power forward.
While he isn’t a starter, losing him will hurt the Zags’ depth as they attempt to finish conference play with their undefeated record intact.
