Greatest basketball moment: On April 2, 2007 the Gators beat Ohio State to win their second consecutive national title becoming the first team to repeat since Duke in 1992.
Reason to root for them: No program in the nation has come more agonizingly close to a championship more often over the past three years without getting to hoist the trophy. The Gators have been to four straight Elite Eights but this is the first Final Four for the program since 2007.
Reason to root against them: The Gators are the No. 1 overall seed and have a 30-game winning streak going into the Final Four. Enough already. The NCAA tournament is about upsets and hot streaks and teams coming out of nowhere to unexpectedly win the title. Wouldn’t it be kind of lame for everyone not wearing Florida colors if the favorite actually wins?
Famous alumni: *Journalist Erin Andrews, film director Jonathan Demme, Olympic swimmer Dara Torres, television host Bob Vila, soccer pro Abby Wambach
Noteworthy: Florida’s four senior starters have played a combined 543 games in their careers, including 265 games started. They have won 55 SEC games and three conference championships in four years and hold the school record with 120 wins for a senior class.
Quote to note:*
“Hopefully, we can leave a great legacy and hang up another banner in here. If I can do that, everything that led up to it -- all the practices and everything that happened the last three years -- will be worth it. Definitely worth it.” - center Patric Young told Gatorzone.com after Florida's final practice on its home court.

Must see video: UConn guard Shabazz Napier got two chances to beat Florida in the final seconds on Dec. 2 and he knocked down the second. It was the last time the Gators lost a game and one of only two Florida losses this
season.
