Being a part of a baseball team is kind of like going on an adventure in a video game. You leave home, go to exotic places and meet interesting people in hopes that you can achieve your ultimate goal.*

Seattle Mariners reliever Fernando Rodney may have taken that comparison a bit too seriously during Wednesday's game against the Colorado Rockies. Either that, or he's a real big fan of Skyrim.
In the middle of the contest, Rodney decided to relax out behind the center field wall in Coors Field.*

He soon grew tired of merely sitting around, and decided to take a stroll through the forest.

Rodney apparently felt no danger, as he walked through the woods without equipping a sword or a shield. He can only assume he was playing a mage character, and had a bevy of spells at his disposal in case he ran into a dragon or draugr.
While the walk through the forest may have distracted Rodney from the every day stresses of his real job, it may have worked too well.

Rodney was eventually called on to pitch, and it certainly didn't look like he was capable of conjuring any fire spells on his pitches. He allowed the Rockies to tie up the game, giving up two runs in just a third of an inning.

At least this whole ordeal gives us some insight into why Rodney fires an arrow after each save. It's not a celebration, but a somber reminder that he could have been an adventurer if he hadn't taken an arrow in the knee.*
