Giancarlo Stanton was the only source of offense for the Miami Marlins on Wednesday, connecting for a pair of two-run homers (his first two of the season)*in a 5-4 loss to the Atlanta Braves.

For one fan, he was also the creator of a lifelong memory. For without Stanton’s second home run, which landed in the pool beyond the left field wall at Marlins Park, this fan would have never had the opportunity to jump into said pool to fish out a souvenir.

The amusing scene played out during the fifth inning of Wednesday’s game. A couple innings later, the still drenched fan was interviewed during the Marlins broadcast. There, we learned his name is Frank Delgado, and we confirmed that he’s a little bit crazy.

It’s the good kind of crazy though. He’s the kind of a guy you want to watch a ballgame with.
Of course, we’ve seen similar splash downs everywhere from Arizona’s swimming pool to McCovey Cove in San Francisco. We’ve even seen them jump in the waterfalls at Angel Stadium and the fountains at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.
