Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly finally broken down and said quarterback Nick Foles would be his starter for the rest of the season.
It took him long enough.
Kelly’s offense has finally emerged with Foles under center, and the Michael Vick era in Philadelphia is seemingly coming to an end.

Coach Kelly: @MikeVick wants to contribute any way he can. He's been a great leader and will be our No. 2 this week. — Philadelphia Eagles (@Eagles) November 26, 2013
No offense to Vick, but Kelly stated the obvious.
Foles set an NFL record during November by finishing with a quarterback rating of 152.8, according to NFL Director of NFC Communications Randal Liu. That is the highest average monthly quarterback rating by an NFL quarterback with at least 50 passing attempts.
He has appeared in eight games this season (five starts) and compiled 1,554 yards and 16 touchdowns. Foles has not thrown an interception, while his current passer rating is 128. He is in contention for Aaron Rodgers’ single-season record (122.5) set during the 2011 season.
As a result of Foles’ productivity, Philadelphia has won three straight games and remains alive in the NFC playoff race. Foles is also responsible for the emergence of receiver Riley Cooper, who has enjoyed three games with 100-or-more receiving yards because of the second-year quarterback. Cooper has 592 receiving yards and seven touchdowns this season.

Vick, who has been dealing with a hamstring injury, recently said Foles should remain Philadelphia’s starting quarterback. Considering Vick is an unrestricted free agent after this season, Foles’ emergence likely solidifies the veteran’s departure after this season.
Like Kelly, that is just stating the obvious.
