Here are 10 DFS recommendations for Wednesday’s slate on Yahoo*but be sure to double-check the weather and lineups*before first pitch approaches.
James Shields, SP, vs. Col (Rusin), $49: He has a 2.93 ERA with a 10.4 K/9 rate over 86.0 innings at home this season. Meanwhile, the Rockies have scored the fewest runs while on the road among all teams in baseball this year. The Padres are the second biggest favorites (-160) on the board Wednesday.
Kris Medlen, SP, vs. Min (Pelfrey), $37: This may seem like a stretch for a pitcher with a 4.88 ERA but no team is favored more than the Royals on Wednesday’s slate, and Medlen owns a 16:2 K:BB ratio over his brief work at home this season.
Brian McCann, C, vs. Bal (Jimenez), $19: He sports a .953 OPS at home this year and sure seems like the clear top catcher to use here.
Brandon Belt, 1B, at Ari (Godley), $14: There are 17 more expensive first basemen, and he’s facing a pitcher making just the fifth start of his career (with an ugly 1.8 K:BB ratio over his 27.1 career innings) and while hitting in arguably the best hitting park other than Coors Field.
Brandon Phillips, 2B, vs. Pit (Happ), $15: The second baseman quietly has 11 homers and 20 steals (while being caught just three times) this year, and he’s 7-for-14 with three homers (with an 1.841 OPS) over 14 career at bats versus J.A. Happ.
Manny Machado, 3B, at NYY (Sabathia), $15: He’s on pace to finish with 32 homers and 20 steals this season and will be facing a southpaw who will be making his first start since coming off the disabled list. CC Sabathia has yielded 23 homers over 106.1 innings against RHB this season (with a .327 BAA and a 1.67 WHIP).
Ketel Marte, SS, vs. Tex (Perez), $7: This is an attempt to punt SS in a way, but Marte has been leading off recently, and if he’s out of Wednesday’s lineup, then go with teammate Brad Miller instead (both are admittedly preferred against RHP).*
David Peralta, OF, vs. SF (Heston), : He sports a .317/.372/.540 line against right-handed pitchers this season yet is still underpriced among outfielders while hitting cleanup and in a terrific hitter’s park.

Colby Rasmus, OF, at Oak (Brooks), $13: He has 14 homers over 276 at bats against RHP, and Aaron Brooks has a career 10.05 ERA and will be making his seventh career start Wednesday.
Lorenzo Cain, OF, vs. Min (Pelfrey), $16: He’s had a great year and owns a career 1.205 OPS (and .523 wOBA) against Mike Pelfrey, albeit in just 12 career at bats.
