(Getty Images) Caroline Wozniacki continued her resurgence Tuesday night, as the former world No. 1 breezed through to the US Open semifinals.
Wozniacki’s opponent, Anastasija Sevastova, rolled her ankle in the second game and was never able to mount much of an attack, resulting in a 6-0, 6-2 scoreline.
Heading into Queens, 2016 had been another a dismal year for Wozniacki. She got bounced in the opening rounds of the Australian Open and Wimbledon, and was sidelined for months due to injury.

But all that has turned around in New York, where Wozniacki has put together a string of impressive wins. Next up, she’ll face a tall task in Angelique Kerber. Kerber won the Australian Open and finished runner-up to Serena Williams at Wimbledon.
