Women in the UFC are big draws these days and former boxing champion Holly Holm might very well be on her way to a shot in the sport’s top promotion if she continues to churn out performances like she did Friday night. Holm scored her fifth knockout in as many career MMA fights in Texas at Legacy Fighting Championship 24.
“The Preacher’s Daughter” (yes, that really is her nickname) stunned Nikki Knudson with a side kick to the body before unleashing a fight-finishing flurry of punches, kicks and knees at just 1:18 of the first round. Check out the video to see Holm’s nasty dismantling of her opponent.
Holm, who trains out of Jackson’s MMA in New Mexico along with a host of UFC fighters, improves her record to a perfect 5-0.
Olympic wrestling gold medalist Henry Cejudo also fought and won on the LFC 24 card Friday night. The wrestler has committed to his MMA career in full this year, fighting and winning five times since March. His decision win over Ryan Hollis last night was the first time Cejudo has had to go the distance in an MMA fight.
