Every year, the Anaheim Ducks hold ‘Military Appreciation Night,’ and every year, they find a way to drop the puck in a unique way.
Last year, Wall-E’s bomb detonating cousin rolled on to center ice, extended its arm and dropped the puck from a claw.
This year’s ‘Salute to Service’ got a whole lot more ADORABLE.
Corporal Nero is bomb sniffing dog with the United States Special Forces. He was escorted on to the ice by his human,*Lance Corporal Brandon C. Benningfield, and Ducks owners, Henry and Susan Samueli.
ANAHEIM, CA – NOVEMBER 6: Corporal Nero and Lance Corporal Brandon C. Benningfield, center, are joined by Ryan Kesler #17 of the Anaheim Ducks, Mark Giordano #5 of the Calgary Flames, Ducks owners Henry Samueli, left, and Susan Samueli, and members of the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command, U.S Special Forces Soldiers from Special Operations Detachment North, and the 128th Quartermaster Rigger Support Team for the ceremonial puck drop prior to the game between the Anaheim Ducks and the Calgary Flames on November 6, 2016 at Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Bask in the unrequited joy of a dog with an incredibly dangerous job.
