Early in Thursday night’s Baylor-Oklahoma game, the Baylor defense stopped Oklahoma on a fourth down goal-line stand in what was a low scoring 3-0 game to that point.
On third down from the two-yard line, the Sooners tried a Blake Bell quarterback rush up the middle, but Bell only got one yard. Trying to catch the Bears defense off guard, the Sooners quickly lined up without a huddle and ran the same play on fourth. The Bears weren't fooled – except for one.
Senior safety Ahmad Dixon was too busy trying to get the crowd pumped up. He had his back turned to the line of scrimmage when the ball was snapped and was completely out of position, but the D-line surged through and stopped Bell for a turnover on downs.
Baylor defensive coordinator Phil Bennett was understandably upset, but in the end, Dixon was bailed out by his teammates and the ineffective Oklahoma play calling.
