What exactly are the fundamentals of basketball?

I want to get better at basketball, I want to be a good player, but I have a lot to work on and I think even when I get good, I still can improve and get great, after that get even better. I'm a late bloomer, started playing when I was 17, senior year. I was horrible, couldn't dribble, couldn't shoot, couldn't pass. could only hit open lay-ups. I'm 18 now and after a year, I can shoot a lot better, people tell me I can shoot. I can dribble OKAY, I want better handles, and I can pass. I'm good at cutting to the basket and hitting a lay-up off the pass. I know how to set screens, etc. The thing is sometimes I play with people who are better than me, and I take a lot of bad shots and end up looking horrible, other times I play great but always wondered what I could have did better. I want to learn what the fundamentals are so I can always be good at basketball.

    Fundamentals are things like
    -Jumpshot
    -Layups
    -Hook Shot
    -Bounce pass
Fundamental is simply a big word for simple, It means behind the back passes you know fancy stuff like switch hand layups so just work on simple stuff sounds like you made a good improvement just keep it up, Always remember what Tim Duncan said "Good Better Best" never stop until your good is better and better is best.
