Urgent help with Sony Ericson W910i phone/Lumines Block game!?

Don't answer if you don't know what I'm talking about.

In single player mode/puzzle mode... the instructions are to create the shape that it shows. The first level is a cross... but you cant build a cross because the line comes along and the blocks disappear and you get points.

This is frustrating me!
