Windows Media Player v.11: rollback/uninstall errors (help)?
I recently downloaded WMP v.11 to update v.10. Problem is, v.11 doesn't recognize the burner drive or have the ability fo sync music with my mp3 player, so I want v.10 back.
I've tried uninstalling/rollback - each time the computer says it's successfully completed the task but v.11 stays installed. I've re-downloaded v.11 to install so I can uninstall, but on every installation (even the first) I get a copy error for connectionmanager.xml. Not sure if that's important.
I also lost my WindowsXP disk, so reformatting isn't an option, unfortunately. A few months ago I ran CCleaner, which I've heard may delete files for system restore, so it appears I might be screwed. I've been working on this for almost 6 weeks now (to get Windows Media Player 10 back), and nothing I've tried via info from microsoft's site or google has helped.
ANY ideas or help would be awesome. I have no idea what to do anymore.
