Itunes will not import songs?

I tried to import songs from my limewire shared folder to my itunes library by using the shortcut (Ctrl shift O) and after I select the MP3 I want to import, nothing happens. Usually the Apple logo has a progress bar underneath it letting me know how much is left to download, but it's not doing that or anything else. I check the list afterwards and the song is nowhere to be found. Help me please.
