when i go into to look at what my sound drivers are I dont know what I am looking for?there is nothing listed when I go into device manager and sounds etc. does that mean there is no sound driver?how do i install it. please be basic as you can with me

If it is onboard sound you need to go to www.realtek.com for the driver . If you have plug in sound card go to manufacturers website and look for downloads or support .

you can go to google and type in dsound.dll
If you install it, it will get the sound back on.

if your sound as suddenly gone off try doing a sytem restore from when it was on , if not most pc's come with a disc audio drivers etc put the disc in and install audio drivers , should work as sound is pretty simple , unless ur soundcard has failed , which then you would need a new soundcard fitted good luck
