Helping a friend pick a Processor?

Hi! My friend is a gamer and is deciding between to processors to pick! He sometimes does light video editing and he pretty regularly plays games.. here is his question:

what's a better processor for gaming/video editing Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz 6MB Cache 1333MHz FSB or Intel® Core™ 2 Quad Q9450 2.66GHz 12MB Cache 1333MHz FSB
