have a 480W PSU for a quad core and geforce 8800GT and a high-end motherboard want to use PSU untill it's dead will it damage anything else?

Yes! My advice is to quickly upgrade to atleast 600watts
becouse if every peripherial isnt getting the exact ammount to voultage they need to run, then it will damage the whole damn thing
