What is a safer substitute to nicotine?

I like the buzz from nicotine, but I don't want to get addicted, or put something in my mouth that is radio active and 10 times more deadly than arsenic. Does anyone have any suggestions? Only substitute suggestions please, I don't want anyone to tell me to not use drugs. Its my life, its my choices. Even that said, I want to live a health(er) life.
I would like something that gives me a buzz but does change how I think, like marijuana. The buzz helps me concentrate, gives me a little more energy and makes me happy

but doesn't impair any of my functions.

there is no substitute for nicotine. there are safer things that will give you a high, (marijuana for example) but nothing that will give you the same buzz as nicotine
