nicotine out of body?

i have an annual body check comming up in a month. i heard that you can find out if you smoke by looking at your blood test results. I heard that it was possible to get the nicotine out of your body so they cant find it. question is. does this remove the nicotine completely? and about the stop smoking for 48 - 72 hours ...is it true ? and how much in advance would you recommend not smoking for to get it all out of your blood so they couldnt detect it. P.S. im not a regular smoker. i only smoke during special occasions now. ive been smoking since may. i used to smoke like 2-5 times a month until july when i smoked once to twice a day. Then i stopped in august and smoked like 2-3 times that month. and in september, smoked like 5-10 a week. (today is october 3) starting last week(september 29), i havent smoked at all and i dont plan to smoke unless its a special occasion. My body check is on november 12 or 14. I think im going to smoke this weekend with some friends (oct 9-11). when do u guys think i should stop smoking in order to get all the nicotine out of my blood for my examination? also you think i should go smoke on halloween too? (oct 31) oh yah please no telling mei should just stop smoking. i just want to know how to get it out of my blood in time for the examination,

Hi..
According to the American Lung Association "nicotine disappears from your blood stream and your urine within 72 hours after smoking your last cigarette."
However, the metabolite of nicotine which is known as Cotinine leaves its traces in blood as well as in urine for up to 7 days ( sometimes up to 3 weeks).
About 85 to 90 per cent of the nicotine which is present in your blood is metabolized by the liver and is thrown out of your system
by the kidney. But due to the higher concentration, many a times, it still persists in the blood stream.
to be on the safe side try to stop smoking or being around smokers 1 month before the Test

Note: per your request I'll not advice you to quit smoking (still it's your Doctor responsibility)

Good luck
