I'm quitting smoking cold turkey tomorrow..any advice?

I am 28 years old...started smoking when I was 12-13....smoke about a pack a day...and i'm threw...it's disgusting....it smells.....luckily my teeth are still very white and i don't cough...My mother quit smoking 3 yrs ago on the chantix...she had smoked for 38 yrs...and she hates the smell now...cannot stand it...but it was a bit to late...damage was done...she has a "little" emphysema. Doctor told her it was not a big deal...they just found it on a random screening....she doesn't cough or is not short of breathe...I am so very proud of her...but my family has a history of lung problems...grandma died of lung cancer before i was born...my uncle had problems with his lungs and wouldn't quit smoking so it ended up killing him....my great aunt hadn't smoked in 40 yrs but had COPD and her daughter and fam would light up around her even after she was on oxygen...it was awful...so i'm threw...i don't want meds...i just want to be done...i have 4 left...and i don't want them but i am gonna smoke them just to get them out of the way...I have a slight head cold and sore throat so i hope this aids me into not smoking tomorrow...i have gotten rid of all my cash (gave to my mother) and my husband has all bank cards, and checks...sooo...I'm scared....as much as I hate it....I'm really scared....It's been a big part of my life....so any tips on what its gonna be like, or what i should do?

thanks so much!

As a smoker myself I don't think it's a good idea to go completely cold turkey because if this is your first attempt at quitting you will most likely relapse and then you end back up at square 1. The better thing to do is to gradually cut back over a 1-2 month period and use nicotine replacement.
