Alcohol and nicotine effects on early pregnancy?

I haven't actually gotten a positive pregnancy test yet...so I am unsure whether I am pregnant...
If I am, I would be 3 1/2 weeks...
I know that plenty of women don't find out they are pregnant until 4-6 weeks...and during this time, im sure many drink and smoke cigs...
but I've read that the first trimester is the worst to smoke and drink...im scared that if I am pregnant, that i might've hurt my baby...
Any insight would be great, thankyou.

I wouldn't worry to much I didn't know I was pregnant till 8-9 weeks and I drank not knowing I was pregnant. I know a lot of people are against ppl smoking during pregnancy but I cut down to 3 a day and I had a healthy baby boy.

I also know a lot of ppl who didn't know they were pregnant and did the same thing your baby will be fine!! don't stress yourself about it.

Well for the first 4 or so weeks the baby is eating the yolk sac that was formed for it, so it is not actually attached or getting any thing from your body until the placenta is formed and umbilical cord attached. You should be fine

Only if you do either heavily. A glass of wine or two a day isn't going to hurt the baby, but if you binge drink or have a 40-a-day habit, then yes, you could cause damage.
