"explorer" internet freezes, and I can not quit out!?

It will freeze up randomly when loading! I do NOT go on sites I don't know that often, and it's not because of that. I will be loading yahoo.com or Google.com, and it will just STOP working. The mouse spins around, and I have to open another window. The odd thing is that ONLY the window freezes, and everything else works normal!
I can NOT quit out of the window until like 5 hours later, it will randomly have a pop up window asking if I would like to "quit" the program, and it automatically enters "quit" I think because I had previously tried to "x" out of the window....

Get rid of the dinosaur and get Firefox, http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/ then get add ons, https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/
this browser is the safest and best on the net, especially when you have the add ons installed, there are a lot to pick from to.
