The input jacks(for the red green an blue) on the back of TV seem to be different.
looks more like a headphones jack. please help

If you have a VCR then you can use the inputs on that to use for the tv.

Hi,
The red, green, blue jack are for High Definiton progressive scan televisions. Standard tv's do not have them since they cannot support progresive scan. Your tv has got the composite Yellow RCA (video), Red (Right audio), White (Left audio). Your only option is to use the Yellow, Red, White RCA or the S-video if both your tv and the DVD has got it. S-video quality is much better than composite for standard definition.
I do not know what it is about the headphone like jacks. I live in Canada, our Component video jacks are RCA jacks. But I doubt that they will be diffrent from country to country. But I have given you a solution above.
Good luck!
