Internet Ping spikes?

Recently I have been getting ping spikes while playing games. I have tried calling my ISP, as they have told me to restart modem, unplug replug, etc etc. Still doesn't work. Ingame, my ping spikes from 30~5000 in cs1.6, and also in ventrilo.

I don't think it's a wireless issue, becuase my desktop (which is directly connected to the modem) also spikes ingame.

The speedtests on my desktop are 2, sometimes 3 times more faster than on my laptop on wireless, but I never had this ping issue playing games untill now..

That's all the info i can think of now...
I don't think it's the server.. I mean I play CS with my friends and they don't lag ingame

It might be the server if you play a lot of diffrent servers and it happends then it might be your wireless ping measures how fast your computer comminicates to the server in miliseconds it might be an intruption in your signal...
