    does the new aluminum imac play DVDs in the HD DVD format?

    like the legit hd dvd format, not just upscale (does i even upscale?

    well does it not play the blu ray format then?

    No. Apple backs Blue Ray, my guess is they will come out with a Blue Ray drive soon.
