    Does anyone own a Kia?

That new cee'd looks nice kinda nice but I want to know whether Kia cars are actually ok to own/drive. Any thoughts?

Don't believe the negative answers, yes Kia has had a bad rep but not deserved. I had a Kia sedan when I lived in the pacific islands, could not kill the beast, cooked the motor twice & it still kept running, drove it over the worst roads in the world, the trim may have fallen off, but it still kept running, Came home and bought another one.... Happy,

Kia is a massive company under the Korean auto manufacturer Hyundai (Hun-Day). Although in the mid-90's the Kia and Hyundai brand was scolded for it's cheap "throw-away" cars, in the recent years, they have come to a new level of standard.

Hyundai (owner of Kia) began reforming it's automobile manufacturing process and dishing out better quality cars.

The European Kia Ceed sounds like a great car. Released in 2006, the company has had a few years to work out any bugs that are associated with new models.

My opinion, Go for the kia. Why? Great price, sharp and dapper car, good reliability

I don't own a Kia, and never will unless for some random reason I decide to turn insane with no real sense of decent choice within the next 50 years or so (although knowing how s*** their cars are they definitely won't be around for that long). OK to drive? Not a chance. OK to own? Even worse. Being a mass-produced Korean car the parts are cheap but every weekend will be spent taking your broken Kia to the shop for a fix. Get a Jap car. Better buying the real thing than a cheap pretender.

Any Kia is good as long as they are not Kia Rio or Older Kia's made in the 80's and 90's.

The old Kia's and the newer Kia Rio is what gives Kia such a bad reputation.

Any other Kia is a great car.

Believe it or not Kia has been cranking out 10s of 1,000s of cars for the past decade plus and nobody has bought one.

So the answer to your question is no, nobody owns a Kia.

Have a Kia, Shuma, 2000, 1.8 lt automatic for the last 5 years. Drives like a dream, enough power for 4 grownups, and does 12km to the liter. Never felt any disappointment. Before that I drove a Ford, Sapphire 3.0 lt., automatic for 15 years, 300 000km on the clock. Kia's are very good if you look after them, they're a 'jealous' car.
    Peace.

I have a Kia C'eed and i love it...i've had Mondeo's and my last car was a Vectra, but this c'eed (silly name) is great, diesel, ave. 43 mpg., very comfortable, safe, (high ncap rating). thoroughly recommend a test drive...

a couple of my friends own kia's and are very happy owners (one owns a carnival/sedona, the other a picanto <dunno what it is in the US market, it's a sub-compact a class lower than the honda jazz/fit>). good performance and low maintenance costs. Kia didn't have very good cars in the early 90's but they're very much out of that rut.

the only kink is, if it matters to you, some mechanics find it a bit hard to fix korean cars (yes, hyundai has this issue too) because certain components aren't placed where they commonly are, like the A/C compressor and stuff. but i guess they just ran into a couple of very nitpicky mechanics.
